An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the expanding team at Savock Farms, a diverse and progressive business based in Ellon, Aberdeenshire. 

We are looking for a practical and reliable operator to support the day-to-day running of our farm-based Anaerobic Digestion (AD) plant. This is a varied role involving plant feeding, machinery operation, digestate handling, and general operational duties within the AD plant and wider farm business. 

 

The Role 

We are seeking an experienced operator to take responsibility for the daily feeding and operation of the AD plant, alongside supporting wider site activities. 

Key responsibilities will include: 

• Daily feeding of the anaerobic digester and clamp management  
• Organisation and handling of digestate within the plant  
• Haulage of digestate (liquid and fibre) to nearby farms  
• Maintaining accurate records of plant operations  
• Keeping the site clean, tidy, and well organised  
• Grounds maintenance and upkeep of surrounding areas  
• Daily and weekly maintenance of machinery used in feeding operations  
• Working closely with the farm management team on feedstock and digestate management  
• Supporting general AD and farm operations as required  
• Adhering to all health, safety, and environmental procedures  

 

About You 

We are looking for someone who: 

• Is self-motivated and capable of working independently  
• Has a strong work ethic and attention to detail  
• Takes pride in maintaining a clean and organised work environment  
• Works safely and follows operational procedures  
• Can work as part of a wider team when required  
• Holds a full UK driving licence  

Essential: 

• Experience operating telehandlers or similar agricultural machinery  
• Background in anaerobic digestion or a similar agricultural environment  

Desirable (but not essential): 

• Relevant telehandler certification  
• Experience handling digestate or working within AD plants

Arable Operator

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the expanding team at Savock Farms, a diverse agricultural business based in Ellon, Aberdeenshire, specialising in arable and energy crop production. This role may also suit candidates with experience as a Tractor Driver or General Farm Worker. 

 

The Role 

We are looking for a motivated Arable Operator to support our operations across a variety of tasks, including: 

• Digestate applications (liquid and fibre)  
• Haulage work  
• Cultivations  
• Clamp work  
• General farm duties  
• Machine maintenance  

 

About You 

We are looking for someone who: 

• Is self-motivated and able to use their own initiative  
• Works well as part of a team  
• Has good timekeeping and a strong work ethic  
• Holds a full, clean UK driving licence  
• Has strong record-keeping and organisational skills  

Desirable (but not essential): 

• Previous arable or agricultural experience  
• Mechanical knowledge and practical skills  
• Familiarity with modern machinery and precision farming technology

Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the expanding team at Savock Farms, a diverse and progressive business based in Ellon, Aberdeenshire. 

This is a varied, hands-on role supporting maintenance and repair operations across multiple parts of the business, including our arable farm, anaerobic digestion (AD) plant, and our sister company, Oat Co food processing facility. This role may suit someone with a agricultural and/or energy industry background. 

 

The Role 

We are looking for a skilled and practical Mechanical Maintenance Engineer / Fitter to work across a range of equipment and environments. 

Key responsibilities will include: 

• Maintenance and repair of agricultural machinery and farm equipment  
• Mechanical maintenance of AD plant equipment, including pumps, compressors, and associated systems  
• Supporting maintenance within the food processing facility  
• Assisting with planning and scheduling maintenance activities  
• Fault finding, breakdown response, and preventative maintenance  
• General workshop duties and site support across multiple locations  

 

About You 

We are looking for someone who: 

• Is self-motivated and able to work independently  
• Has a practical, hands-on approach with strong problem-solving skills  
• Can work across a variety of environments and adapt to different tasks  
• Works well as part of a small team as well as good timekeeping and organisational skills  
• Holds a full UK driving licence  

Essential: 

• Proven experience in a mechanical maintenance role (ideally 3+ years)  

Desirable (but not essential): 

• Experience with agricultural machinery  
• Experience in industrial or processing environments  
• Basic electrical maintenance knowledge  
• Experience with anaerobic digestion or gas systems

POSTIONS ARE NOW FILLED

Seasonal workers required from July until end of September to assist on our Arable and AD farm 10 mins north of Aberdeen. The positions could lead into a Full-Time role for the right candidates.

Duties will include:

• grain harvesting

• grain and forage haulage

• primary & secondary cultivation’s

• digestate spreading & haulage

• workshop maintenance

You will be required to have the skills to work new and modern machinery as well as a brush!!

A knowledge and understanding of GPS equipment and combining experience would be advantageous. Experience is essential and a can-do attitude for long hours when required.

The applicants must also understand good record keeping.

Due to insurance purposes the applicants must have a valid UK drivers licence (clean), NI number and permitted to work in the UK.
